One of the main reasons is that there are not enough single men in the former USSR - there are more than 10,000,000 single Russian women in the Former Soviet Union who cannot find the right partner in their countries. Just because those men are single does not mean that they are good for a family. Most of them have a lot of bad habits such as alcoholism and laziness and they are not reliable. They lack ambition and they are not able to support a family. As a result, women have to take care of the family themselves. All these problems make women look for Western men and for lives in Western countries. Of course there are many intelligent and decent Russian men but unfortunately most of them are already married. Another reason Russian women want to create families abroad is the uncertain economic situation in the former USSR. Many struggle just to survive, let alone provide the best opportunities for their children. Many well-educated women can’t find work. Many teachers, doctors and engineers only work occasionally and often well below their education.

What do Russian women dream about? They want to love and to be loved. They dream about having a caring and loyal husband. They dream about having a strong, loving family with a secure future. These are the reasons why they leave their homes, friends and relatives behind. Don’t lose sight of the fact that it is morally very difficult for them to leave. When we ask Western men to characterize Western women, they usually give similar responses. Western women prefer independence and freedom and are not ready for the sacrifices of having a family. Their career is their top priority. They get married later in life and they have children later or not at all. Western women are envious of men and want to have an equal social standing with them.
Russian women, on the other hand, recognize that they are different from men – certainly not inferior, just different – and they enjoy being women. Russian women are beautiful, feminine, elegant, sexy, generally well-educated and intellectual. Family is very important to Russian women. Yes, yes and again yes!  21st century Internet technology makes it possible. There are many examples of this! I met my American husband on the Internet years ago when I lived in Ukraine. We now have a happy family and we are thankful that we had such a means of communication! Women from all these countries have much in common, as they were brought up in the same atmosphere, having the same moral values such as love, devotion, femininity, caring for their family and hard work. Usually all women from the former USSR are called Russians.

5. I am 60 years old and I’d like to find a Russian bride. Do I have any chance?

Of course you have every chance of finding a loving bride but I have a piece of advice for you. Don’t choose too young ladies. I recommend the maximum difference between you no more then 20 years. There are many beautiful 40 - to 50-year-old ladies who will be interested in you and with whom you can have a happy life. We have many examples of just such happy marriages.

6. What age difference is suitable for Russian women?

In general Russian ladies prefer men who are 5 to 10 years older than they are. The maximum age difference is about 15 years. There are happy families where the age difference is more than 15 years but it doesn’t happen very often.

7. How long does it take for a letter from the USA to get to Russia by mail? Are there quicker alternatives?

It usually takes 3 weeks but it can sometimes take 4, 5 or even 6 weeks. It takes less time for a letter to arrive from Europe than it takes to send one to Europe. Of course you can use express mail services such as DHL, UPS or FedEx but they are rather expensive. We recommend you use our Express Mail forwarding service as it is a tenth the cost.

8. Is it obligatory to pay for translations?

If a lady knows English (or any other language that you also speak) then of course you don’t have to use our Translation Services. If her English is poor or she can translate only with the help of a dictionary, then our Letter Translation service are recommended to avoid misunderstandings.

 9. In what countries of the former USSR can you deliver letters?

We can deliver letters in any city of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Kazakhstan.

11. How can I send photos in my letters? Can I send as many photos as I like?

You have to e-mail your photos in .jpg format and no larger than 200 KB each. You can send as many photos as you wish. But it is better not to send more than three photos in one e-mail. You can always send multiple e-mails.

12. Can you guarantee that women will reply to my letters?

We cannot guarantee that but we strongly ask our ladies to reply to all letters, even if their answer is negative (if they aren’t interested in you). Sometimes there are reasons why you don’t receive a reply. Maybe the letter you sent by mail hasn’t reached her yet. This happens quite often. It is very easy to explain. We collaborate with many agencies in countries of the former Soviet Union (FSU). Most smaller agencies don't have their own websites. They place their ladies’ ads on our site. Local agencies know their clients personally. They usually all live in one city.  Also, most (more than 90%) Russian women don’t have their own computers so they don’t have their own e-mail addresses. They use the e-mail
service of an agency.  But you don’t have to pay any money to that agency and your lady.
